Me and Scottish Country Dancing
Hello! I am Laura and a passionate Scottish Country Dancer. I discovered Scottish country dancing for the first time in 2018 and from the moment I learned the first figures, I knew I had found something truly fitting for me. Now I dance regularly since 2022 – so still much to learn but I’m eager! 🙂
A harmonious fusion of focus and fun.
The dances are lively and incredibly uplifting (even the Strathspeys 😉 ) for the spirit. Because of the dynamic blend of physical activity and mental concentration it results in a captivating sense of being fully present in the moment which can bring a profound sense of immersion and joy. There’s a real sense of freedom and release – it’s something I look forward to every week.

Crafting unique, dynamic and engaging dances.
In addition to dancing, I also enjoy exploring devising scottish country dances – since spring 2024. Here you can have a look at my work: my dance list. While respecting the established forms and figures, I also try to bring an own creativity to craft interesting figure sequences and engaging flow.
Embracing the road ahead.
Looking ahead, I am excited to continue my journey with Scottish Country Dancing. There is always more to learn, new dances to master and more people to dance with. I am eager to deepen my understanding of this dance form, to refine my skills, and to continue sharing this passion with others.
